Clayoquot Wilderness Resort

Here, at Clayoquot Wilderness Resorts on the Bedwell River, on the far west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia… our wild is virgin.

Un-touched by the last glacial slide, the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere is teeming with wildlife, and a temperate jungle so dense and lush that it was deemed "an upside-down rainforest" by National Geographic magazine.

And here, surrounded by the energy of the ages, we offer visitors a taste of how the fortunate spent their summers roughing it some 100 years ago. An enclave of opulently furnished great white canvas guest and suite tents, spa tents and lounge tents, plus a massive timber cookhouse promise a delicious irony of extraordinary luxury and un-tamed Canadian wilderness frontier.

To Go Wild With Us… Heavenly

Your three and one-half day Bedwell River Outpost eco-safari begins with four-star cuisine and luxurious accommodation, and includes soft or extreme adventures built-to-suit. Horseback riding through old-growth forest cathedrals and lush fern gardens is a favourite activity, but guided whale and bear watching, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, salt and fresh water fishing, spa and wellness, culinary excursions, mountain biking and conservancy programs also initiate guests to the ways of the wild.

Come stay with us. Come play with us. Go wild with us.

Clayoquot Wilderness Resorts & Spa owns and operates two ultra-luxurious resorts near the village of Tofino on Vancouver Island; the Floating Resort at Quait Bay, and the Outpost at Bedwell River. HorsePower Safaris introduces a four-star alliance between two top-flight resorts, and promises a golden triangle of adventure between Vancouver, the Outpost at Bedwell River, and Nimmo Bay.

Flight time between Vancouver International Airport and Tofino is a scenic 45-minutes, over coastal mountain ranges, white sand beaches, broken islands, and seal and sea lion colonies. Resort-chartered aircraft depart the Executive Depot of the South Terminal at YVR. Alternatively, the 5,000-ft strip at Tofino (YAZ), can accommodate private jet and prop aircraft arriving from anywhere in North America. Guests travelling by car traverse the legendary Island Highway through Cathedral Forest and ancient stands of 1000-year old cedars, and would arrive to Vancouver Island aboard a Washington State or BC Ferry.
